Randy Litchfield
Owner; Director of Volleyball; Head Coach 15 Elite

Coaching at IVA for the first time in 2010 at the 15-1s level, Randy became the head volleyball coach at his alma mater, Ball State University, in 1989 and coached the team until 2006. His teams achieved a career overall record of 373-179, good enough for 32nd on NCAA’s all-time winning percentage list. During Randy's tenure as head coach BSU's average national computer ranking amongst over 300 Division 1 teams was 43rd. Randy's MAC career winning percentage was .790 with a record of 230-61 while leading Ball State to its first NCAA tournament birth in 1992, with subsequent appearances in 1993, 1994, 1995, 1999, 2000 and 2002. The Cardinals earned 13 conference regular season or tournament championships while Litchfield directed the team, more than any other coach in conference history. Randy led Ball State to 15 consecutive winning seasons (1991-2005), ninth longest streak in the nation and 11 straight 20-win seasons, the longest streak in MAC history. Ball State also boasted the largest number of All-MAC selections since 1989 (55). Recent Cardinal graduates have competed professionally in the USPV and Europe. The 2002 Ball State volleyball team completed the season ranked 5th in the Mideast Region and 22nd in the NCAA’s RPI. The 2002 Cardinals went 17-1 in MAC play while returning only one All-MAC performer from ’01 and starting up to three freshmen. In August, 2002, Southern Cal snapped Ball State’s 42-match home-court winning streak – 3rd longest in the nation. As a player, Randy competed for Ball State University where he was an All-American and teamed with IVA's 17s Head Coach Corky Robertson. In 1984 the Cards qualified for the Final Four losing to UCLA in the semis. Later that year he was invited to the post-Olympic team trials in San Diego. Following a series of injuries, Randy returned as a player and was voted an All-American at USAV Open Nationals in 1986. Randy is married to Lee Anne and they have two daughters, Samantha (18) and Sydney (14), both heavily involved at IVA.
